Thatcham, Berkshire Waterside Park Directions to Waterside Park (By road) From Reading - Follow the A4 Bath Road towards Thatcham. At the roundabout (sign posted Thatcham Station) take the first exit turning left into Pipers Way. Then continue as above. From Basingstoke - Follow the A339 towards Newbury. At the roundabout (signed Thatcham) take the second exit turning right into Thornford Road. At the 'T' Junction turn left into Station Road. Waterside Park is approximately 2k on the right. The training area is the first car park on your left. Please park in the gravel car park opposite. Directions By Train - Waterside Park is situated near to Thatcham rail
station on the main Paddington line. On leaving the station turn left
towards the river bridge (away from Thatcham) and Waterside Park is approximately
100m on the left. Important Information: If you are attending for a Compulsory Basic Training Course (CBT) then the training commences at 9.00am and concludes at approximately 3.00pm. Please remember that you must bring your Driving Licence with you. If your licence is a Photo Card Licence then please bring both the photo Card and the paper counterpart. If you have a single part paper licence then please bring some form of photo ID, i.e. passport. If you are attending for a Direct Access Training Course then the training commences at the time stated by your instructor. Normal training sessions are of 3 hours duration and commence at either 9.00am, 12.00midday or 3.00pm. Please remember that you must bring your Driving Licence, Theory Test Certificate and CBT Certificate with you. If your licence is a Photo Card Licence then please bring both the photo Card and the paper counterpart. If you have a single part paper licence then please bring some form of photo ID, i.e. passport. For your safety, protection and comfort we require that you wear appropriate clothing for the duration of the course. This should consist of: 1. Boots or stout footwear 2. Motorcycle trousers or close fitting heavyweight jeans 3. Long sleeve Jacket 4. Gloves Wet weather, high visibility reflective clothing and safety helmet will be made available to you if required, however you are encouraged to wear your own equipment if you would prefer. Prior to the commencement of your training you will be required to pass an eyesight test. This will require you to be able to read a standard number plate over 67' (20.5m). Please ensure that if you require corrected vision for riding that you are in possession of your glasses or contact lenses. We look forward to meeting with you on the day.
